Description:

Chalet `Les Erines` lies in the picturesque and sunny Abondance Valley on the French/Swiss border in the traditional village of Châtel. It would be difficult to find a chalet closer to the centre of the village, yet `Les Erines` is situated in an enviably quiet location tucked away on the hillside with spectacular views up and down the valley.It`s an easy walk to the village centre, convenient for the local bars, restaurants and shops.

Detailed property description:

Chalet `Les Erines` accomodates 9 guests very comfortably in 4 well-appointed en-suite rooms, all with full-size bath and shower. A smaller Grenier (loft room) provides space for another 2 guests but is more suitable for children as it has a low ceiling.

The ground floor is split level comprising a comfortable lounge area with wood-burning stove and kitchen area solely for use by guests.

Breakfast and evening meals are served in the spacious separate dining room which overlooks the garden to one side of the chalet with views across the valley. There is also a sauna on this level.

Area description:

Châtel is an alpine village in the Haute Savoie region of France. It is located in the Abondance Valley, in the heart of the international ski area of the Portes du Soleil.

Châtel is on the Swiss border, 40km from Thonon and Evian les Bains, between Lac Léman and Mont Blanc. What makes Châtel special is its unspoilt alpine architecture and its sunny position.

The bustling village centre of Châtel with its many small shops and a weekly market selling regional specialties, has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Aprés ski mainly revolves around the many colourful bars and good quality restaurants. There are also plenty of other activities available in this delightful village such as bowling, two cinemas and ice-skating.

Excellent food, 10 out of 10. Only slight downside was a 10 minute journey to the slopes, but we really enjoyed our stay and Robert and Stephanie were very obliging
